Project :MP40 upgrade

Considering upgrading my MP40,in the light of latest game flaws noticed.Based on a UK airsofter mate advices, what it needs is as follows:

Upgrade choice # 1

Strip the box, clean everyting, it will be full of lithium grease, clean it all off, including the piston / cylinder, re assemble fitting the following new parts, metal spring guide with bearings, a new piston & piston head, I recomend the TM standard type piston & a systema area 1000 piston head ( without bearings, its cheaper & lighter ) systema oiless bushings, you will have to re shim the box too, re assemble & re grease using lithium grease sparingly on the gears / bushings, on the piston use silicone grease, I recoment marui silicone grease or systema silicone grease as the UK avalable grease Servisol & Abbey are too thick & cost you FPS, for a main spring go for a PDI 150% spring.

His opinion on the aforementioned upgrade #1:

  • Did any of you try to replace the nozzle? I think this is the "weakest" part in the gearbox. I experimented with replacing many other parts like, spring and piston but did not get a significant improvement in performance.
  • Still you will need to exchange the nozzle, it easy to do and should give much better performance. At least on my MP40 this must be the part that causes some problems (already tried to exchange most of the other parts).

I had my agm mp40 upgraded by fire support and what a amazing job they did. The parts they fitted are as follows:

- v3 bearing spring guide
- tm piston and piston head (standard)
- area 1000 cyclinder
- area 1000 cyclinder head
- area 1000 metal bushes
- tm ak hop unit
- tm mp5 inner barrel
- guarder sp90 spring
- guarder improved hop rubber

they kept the original nozzle as the original is fine. with all that she now fires at 315 fps and has amazing range. a few people on here have had this work done by fire support and are all pleased with the outcome. i had extra work done on the motor cage so a eg1000s could be fitted and now the rof it great on a decent 8.4v mini battery.

I wonder if anyone would be willing and able to help with this project.I'll see what and who.

C4 Trap scenario

12th of September,2010 - Balcescu

We had a good idea of a scenario, called C4 TRAP.Obviously,if something can go wrong it will.

The idea is very good, but it needs a lot (and I mean a lot!)of adjustements and improvisations in the field. Not that is something wrong with improvising under fire :-),but as I said,it's a new idea and it may take a while until we can call it a 100% playable scenario.

Good people,both parties!Lots of noobs,which is brilliant.

Played with the MP40.Trusty old gun,but the scenario was such that I fired less than two mags.Problems encountered:
Replica and mags were freshly cleaned and probably I had a tad too much silicone.Probably due to this ,the hop-up behaved stupid on me today. The rate of fire was pretty good, but it is visible an improved gearbox /barrel/trigger adjustment and battery could add to this replica behavior.

Next time,on the 03rd of October.Can't wait!

WWII re-enactment in Russia

This is very impressive,by a long shot.Russians impersonating German soldiers in a WWII re-enactment play ...wow...how time goes by...

However,I do suspect they use blank fire ammunition and replicas.Listen to the sound the Unteroffizier makes with the MP40 in the dugout (min 1.01 forward).By the sound of the arming you can tell is a blank fire replica.

Also, the sound of the weaponry durign the assault is similar to blank fire ammo, not airsoft:-)

Nice touch with the motorcycle and the period vehicle. When the Russians do it,the really do it!

Accurate enough uniforms and weaponry too! From Russia with love...

The Gathering:Operation "First Stone" 2010

Enjoy,people!I know I did...:-))

Been a'while

Been a'while now, lazy or busy as a bee doing my thing.Nonetheless,I have been playing every occasion I had,in the last 2-3 months.

Just so you know,I was a part of this Romanian airsoft event here:

The Gathering : Operation "First Stone"

or here : Airsoft Alliance

I am lost for words!!!I never imagined such intensity of the game, such space to develop "real life" scenarios, and so many comrades!Indeed this was a morethanIeverhoped thing to happen.

A pity I took ill for the first day(out of two),due to back pains.Nonetheless, the second day I was there, and even if the sorts decided not to play along and with my Bacau mates,I did everything I could to face whatever the game threw at me.And plenty of things to be met, believe you me!

A photo of myself and my Bacau mates, apart from 2 guys that played in our squad (boonie hat from Bucharest & olive kneepads, far left view from Piatra Neamt)

No,they are not my team.

Yes,they are my friends!
