Minox Photography

Minox. An unusual camera,to say the least. In 1999,while looking for a decent spy camera to work with,I stumbled upon a Minox link.Intrigued and fired up by the awesome and spy-like camera,I bought a used-but in good condition Minox B,and a couple of films.I was hooked for ever.

This combo here depicts the Minox A/IIIs and its matching Minox Light meter, both from my own collection.

Minox B,from my collection.

MINOX - check this link if you wish to know what /who/when/why data on Minox photography.A comprehensive history and Minox camera collection, also on other subminiature photography formats (16mm,etc).Another good start in acquainting yourself with Minox is here.
This would be my first amateur website, appearing childish to me now.But in 1999 when I built it,I thought the world of it. Check my Minox 1999

In 2002,I bought my first Minox photography dedicated domain,www.minoxit.com.Alas,it expired in 2005 and never re-built this one.

During the last 11 years,I always had (and still do) a Minox camera in my pocket.Beautiful and hand, one of the best lenses ever,it had been always with me,all over Romania and Europe, wherever I went.A few results:

Obviously, how could I not have my own domain:-))?Lots of recent photographs, also my collection of photographic cameras and accessories:

This is one of the most beautiful images I shot in 2010.It's a small rapid in Slanic Moldova mountain resort - Romania.Own pre-processing,then lab C41,and finally scanned by me on a Plustek OpticFilm 7200 photo scanner.Hope you like it,to be honest, the eerie water and all are givign me the creeps, looks like the home of Nazguls LOTR :-))

I currently own 2 Minox IIIs,2 Minox C,1 Minox B,3 Minox EC and a Yashica Electron, also 9.2mm.The accessories are also present for each of the aforementioned cameras.

Obviously,I do not employ Minox cameras in my profession. If I ever do so,it is because with modern equipment it is almost impossible to acquire decent images of what's going on,especially when working undercover. But such cases are extremely scarce.

Beside Minox and its 9.2mm format,I also use on a regular basis my trusty Edixa 16,which uses 16mm film, unperforated or single perfs. It doesn't matter if the film does not have perforations, since Edixa 16 (like its brother ,the Rollei 16) doesn't have the sprocket advance system.

I love also to work with classic cameras (by "classic camera" I do understand and see any camera built or manufactured prior to 1970.Thus,the formats I load these cameras with are either 35mm or 120 (MF-medium format). Some of my cameras:

and many others. Some of my camera collection can be viewed here.

I am uploading some documentation I have found in my old files.as well. These were quite scarce at the time ,when I got them.Probably they still are.

Some of this documentation is still under copyright,so I just linked with the proprietary website. As long as you observe the copyright condition, you should be all right by downloading and using these manuals and stuff as you see fit.

Edixa 16 camera & flash manual - quite scarce manual to come by

Exposure Mat - understand and work with EV zone

Seagull 4A - medium format camera,Rolleiflex-style

Subminiature cameras and manuals - the best website on such small format

Enjoy, and if by any chance you feel like asking any questions on any of these cameras, please do not hesitate to do so.I will be happy to help you !
