Brestkaya Kreposti

Just had a glimpse of this excellent Russian film a few days ago, while in Belarus. It is the story of the Brest Fortress, stormed by the German troops in the early hours of the 22nd of June,1941.

Excellent movie, very well made and actually extremelly accurate,in my opinion. Not just the actual facts, but it misses the whole communist mumbo-jumbo that goes usually with Russian WWII film propaganda.Besides, the story line is accounted to a real survivor of the siege,16 years old at the time.

The fierce combat scenes and ireality of the carnage is hard-hitting the eye of the viewer. It makes you understand somehow the hate that later drove the Red Army in creating the havoc which it did in Germany. In short, this film is worth viewing by those who wish to get a view of what hapenned in the first WW2 days in Russia,Barbarossa plan and all.

For those who wish to download the film, see this link.Enjoy!
